Room Parent Information

Volunteering as a Room Parent can be a fun and rewarding activity. As a Room Parent, your responsibilities will include:

Coordinating events for your child’s class, such as parties and class programs
Help with other projects that may arise for your specific class
Coordinate the class basket for the PTA’s annual Tricky Tray event
Attend field trips if requested

If you are interested in becoming a Room Parent, please fill out this form and return it no later than Friday, September 18^th. Due to the large number of applications and time constraints, we cannot accept any forms after this deadline. Please send your form back promptly in an envelope marked “Room Parents”. It is also necessary that all room parents be at least a General Member of the BB/BS PTA. If you have not already joined, please fill out the attached Membership form and return it as soon as possible.

If you cannot commit to organizing for the entire year, or are unable to participate regularly during school hours, but would still like to help, you can put your name down as a Volunteer. Volunteers will be contacted by the Room Parents when extra help is needed.

If you have more than 1 child in Barclay Brook or Brookside, you can apply to be Room Parent in multiple classrooms. If you are chosen for more than one child you might be asked to step down or the committee can make the choice for the good of the class.

Also, please be advised that it is up to the teacher to decide whether or not it is appropriate for a younger sibling to attend classroom functions.

If you are selected in being a Room Parent, you will be notified by phone and/or email by the PTA Room Parent Committee in a few weeks. Please feel free to contact the Room Parent Committee with any questions you may have
